As suggested, switch to MySB for internet radio playback. This simple server switch can be added to the Touch's home menu.
As for USB usage, yeah it can be buggy. I have three USB thumb drives I've tried with my Touch: 1. no name cheapo unit, worked first few weeks, now Touch refuses to recognize it 2. brand new PNY 4gb, Touch never recognized it 3.
