Well, your Touch is a G series WiFi device, G tops out at 54mbps, and
seldom (if ever) actually reaches/uses 54mbps.
A typical music file in WAV format is probably using 1.5 mbps on the
high end.  Lossless FLAC and Lossy MP3/WMA/AAC use far less mbps.
