In a setup with Touch's local server and USB disk those scripts probably made some improvements, however it was not easy to tell.
However, going to network server and wired LAN really woke up the Touch. I must say that sound quality at this moment is brilliant. You just want to sit there and listen to music for hours, and that's always a good sign. My CDP is packed away now, and the Touch will stay. Count me in as another Squeezebox enthusiast. Next is a DIY PSU, and after that a quiet and ecofriendly motherboard as basis for the NAS.
