I think your right toby10, maybe if the developers do read this they might think about adding a feature in a later firmware to turn of networking if not required. However judging on my experience with the beta firmware 7.6 its going to get worse, i couldnt even play anything off my USB or SD card without the network connected when running beta 7.6. I had to roll back :-(
As a note, when i updated the firmware to beta 7.6, i did so from my SD card, i just followed some ones previous post on here (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80482&page=2) and downloaded "Fab4.bin" (http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.6.0/) from the nightly firmware builds and put it onto an sd card and then selected firmware update from the menu on the touch. Worked great apart from the problems above. Its a shame logitech dont have a bug/feature page like Western digital do for there wdtv (http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Ideas/idb-p/idea). I really like the way you can make suggestions and then people can vote on them. I posted a few suggestions on there and they actaully got put into a firmware build in 2 weeks.
