Both the Musiland 01 USD and the M2Tech will NOT work with the Touch.
They require a custom driver of which only Mac or Windows versions
exist. The Touch runs linux on an ARM processor so the existing drivers
will not work.

You HAVE to use a device that will work with a generic driver, NOT its
own custom driver.

I'm not up on DSIX, I've seen two very different things on the net
under that name, I'm not sure what you are referring to. One looks like
a simple waveform reshaper and a transformer, the other has an
oscillator and says something about a PLL, I have not been able to find
any details about whats actually going on inside of this.

I've written hundreds of pages on S/PDIF before, I'm not really up to
that all over again. The upshot is that it is HIGHLY variable. Almost
no devices actually really get the spec right so you are almost always
dealing with a gamble as to what is going to work the best. In real
life its all about which imperfection of transmitter matches the
imperfections of the receiver the best. Which comes down to its
impossible to make generalizations. Try a bunch of stuff and use the
one that sounds the best. Just because something works best for someone
else, its highly unlikely its going to be the best for you unless you
have exactly the same gear.
