I've listened to my Touch with great and increasing satisfaction since
mid-April without significant difficulty. About a week ago, the music
suddenly went silent. The Touch screen looked normal (like it was
playing), but the playing time indicator was not advancing.

At the computer (details below), Squeezebox server was running and all
looked normal. With nothing else to try, I tried restarting the
computer; very early in the reboot the computer froze and it stayed
frozen until I forced shutdown by holding the power switch down.

This scenario has now repeated many times. The Touch will play for 30
min to 3-4 hours (1-2 hours is typical), then the music will stop. The
Touch display looks normal but the playing time does not advance. The
computer seems normal (does not appear to be hung or slow) but always
hangs on restart. On power cycling the computer, Squeezebox server
starts and then I can go to the Touch press the "Play" arrow, and the
music always starts more or less where it left off. It will then play
for an hour or three and freeze again.

The computer never hangs on restart unless the Touch has induced a
lockup. The only other potentially strange behavior is that the Touch
seems to re-buffer more often since the lockup issue began. In the
past, the Touch might re-buffer once on the first song, now it might
re-buffer 2-3 times and the latency time is much longer.

I can think of no recent changes (no fiddling with connections, Touch
menu options, Squeezebox server options, etc.); I've been busy at work
so I've been listening to music while I work, not messing with my audio
rig. the system configuration has been unchanged since I added the
Touch.
