Its USB that most perks my curiosity these days. It was curious that in the Stereophile Touch review, the reviewer found that PC via ethernet to Touch to Ayre via tweaked USB output as the best "Mo Fo" sound he has heard bla, bla, bla, etc. etc. IMHO, I give credit to the Touch for that assessment vs. the USB protocol in the Ayre. >From my initial review reads - USB has some growing to do. SPDIF has its own problems which are well documented. So, anything I find on USB, in particular the real contenders - unsync protocols - I'm right there. USB - right now - seems like the audiophile lazy mans way out in some ways. I may be missing the point. Im still not happy with the idea of running a USB cable to a DAC. -- earwaxer9 System: modified Winsome Labs Mouse, modified Maggie MMG's, Transporter, HSU sub 12, MSB DAC to 500 watt sub slave amp, JPS labs power cords, Silver audio interconnect, Audioquest Granite speaker cable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ earwaxer9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39527 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81346 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
