Recently I also had this problem with my Squeezebox Touch (SBT). I
thought that will be helpful to share here my experience with this
problem.
I have the SBT connected to a 3.5" external 500GB HDD formatted in
FAT32 with 'this'
(http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm) program,
because Windows only allows formatting in FAT32 drives with up to
32GB.
Initially I thought that this error happened because I have over 32GB
of music recorded in this HDD. I followed the advice given in this
forum about the album art, and I did more yet: I removed all the
images. The problem remained. I formatted the disk to NTFS with
Windows, and the problem remained the same. After that I only added to
the disk 30GB music, in which case the scanning went smoothly. I was
adding a few more albums at a time, until a specific album give me the
error again. I removed that album and replaced by another, the error
left to give! I ended up add all the missing albums, I ran the scan,
and had no problem! Conclusion: the problem of this error, at least to
me, was due to some MP3 files that were encoded in some strange way for
the SBT. I converted these files again, I added them to the HDD and the
scan went smoothly. Therefore, this error can also be due to corrupted
music files. Here is the info!
