I will do the tests next year - but I'm afraid few will accept the results. The theory that it is processor related noise (presumably on the ground plane of the digital connection) that can impact the DAC as jitter can be easily tested by injecting artifical noise into the circuit. Another aspect rarely discussed is that there should be a difference when an SB plays out from its internal buffer only, with the network disconnected... Likewise, a 24/48 track simply upsampled to 24/96 should sound worse because the processor is doing more work... -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
