My family totally surprised me and got me a Touch for Christmas! I've got it set up now and streaming from my Linksys router to my stereo system - it was simple and easy to do.
But I have some questions: 1. Will the quality of my internet connection and/or the broadcast quality of either an HD radio station or Internet radio station affect the sound? I'm asking because I noticed that every once in awhile, the sound doesn't seem to be as good from one song to another. 2. I want to use an old PC (strictly dedicated to this music project), an external HD, and start loading my CDs on it, as well as Squeezebox Server. Can I download the Vortex (?) Linux program TO that PC, AND use an external USB drive? I've browsed through the forum, and see conflicting opinions. Or am I better off simply using XP, the Squeezebox program, and the external HD? 3. Do I need to only choose a certain brand of HD for the external drive?
