I liked last.fm okay, but I haven't listened to it much in the past 1-2 years. For awhile the mixes started sounding a bit too same-y. I like Pandora, too. Tastes in our house are pretty eclectic, so I especially like the ease with which it is easy different "stations" in Pandora for different artists, genres, moods, etc. For our own library the mixes generated by MusicIP are really excellent.
