I'm a new owner of Touch so forgive me if this has been addressed
already and just direct me to the right thread. I just purchased a 3TB
Seagate Goflex Harddrive with USB 3.0 (supposedly backword compatible to
USB 2.0). When I attempted to originally connect it to the Touch I got a
message "unsupported file system" however this HDD is NTFS. First I did
a quick reformat with NTFS and got the same message. Then I did a full
reformat that took probably 6 hrs. After this I connected it and the
USB menu on the touch recognizes it as Segate Goflex, but when it tries
to attach it still gives me the unsupported file system message even
though I reformatted to NTFS. This is an auxilary power suppliy.
Could this be due to USB 3.0 (although the touch seems to be semi
acknowledging the HDD) or due to the large 3TB size? has anyone run
accross this? This HDD runs fine when connected to my computer and I
succesfully connected an old 32GB NTFS formatted hard drive. The large
3TB Seagate was attractive to me since I could load a lot on it - has
anyone got one of these to work? any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
in advance
