If I understand correctly then the issue that you have is that your Touch does not connect to your local SBS server, correct?
First check that the SBS version that you installed is at least version 7.5.0. Older versions of SBS do not support the Touch. The next thing to check is that your Touch is properly configured. It should be setup to connect to SBS. From the home menu go to My Music > Switch Library. There you need to select the computer name of your laptop. If it still doesnt work the check if SBS is running on your laptop. I dont have a windows install but if I recall correctly it is able to run as a service. So in Services it should be running. If it still doesnt run then I would try to created entries in the Windows firewall for the port 3483. -- Pascal Hibon 2 x SB3, 1 x SB Boom and 1 x SB Radio - all wireless ReadyNAS NVX running SBS iPeng on iPod Touch.
