Sounds like you finally got it knocked! Congrats. At 3600 I defintely had a few Rice Krispies (snap, crackle, pop), so went up to 4000 as some others have done. I've been listening to music most of the day and haven't heard anything untoward, so I think 4000 is good for me, now.
Yeah, when it says that the WLAN mod is disabled it means you've NOT applied the mod, yet. So, the Touch's wi-fi card is still on and working.
