Do you think I am spreading FUD in the process?
You can try this, just for a lark: get an audiophile friend who'd be willing to humor you, ask jim to help you with a double-blindfold ABX test. Tell him that you'd be randomly switching some audio components and asking him if he can detect any differences. Sit him down, blindfold him, and run the ABX tests. Play the track you've agreed upon beforehand, the pretend that you're messing around with something, play the same track again, and so forth. Each time you play the track, ask him to tell you if it sounds different or not to him. The clincher is to NEVER change absolutely anything. You'll see that your friend will nevertheless start detecting some differences from playback to playback. People never fail to fall into the trap of 'expectation bias'. That fact alone completely disqualifies the 'objectivity' of a double-blind ABX test. -- magiccarpetride ------------------------------------------------------------------------ magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84742 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
