If you are getting a loud hum it could mean that it is either not connected properly or the output is too high for your amp, but then you have used different amps, try a different input on the amp as some have different sensitivity. Are the interconnects touching and shorting out, disconnect one channel at a time and see if that makes a difference to the hum. If it was the music files at fault then you would just get silence, no hum. Failing that and if you haven't modded it in any way then I would return it! Good Luck Dave
