I have just found the Boston Symphony Orchestra site, with well-priced
high-res files of several of their recordings. However, they are all
WMA 88.2K/24bit lossless. I am used to playing high-res FLAC files with
no problem. These WMA files will not play at their native resolution on
my Touch. When transcoded to FLAC they are downsampled to 44.1K and
when trancoded to WAV they play as noise (through both the analog and
digital outputs). I had to convert the files on the HDD to FLAC, and
now they play fine at 88.2K.

Since I have done hardware modifications to my Touch (to slave it to
external clocks and tap the I2S connection) I want to be sure this
problem is not due to my mods.

Is this a known limitation of the Squeezebox server? If so, it seems
like something they should fix. Is there an alternative to wmadec as a
transcoder?

Thanks, Jack
