Having moved from a Cambridge Azur 840C CD player to an SBTouch (digital out to the 840C's DAC) and having installed all *soundcheck*'s mods except for disabling the WLAN, I am also delighted with the resulting sound, which is the best I've had in my system -- and I've been at this for more than 50 years (and yes, my hearing is still excellent!). I have lots of sympathy with the skepticism with which some view claims of improvements, be it through cables, power supplies, or assorted mods. But if one is willing to go back and forth between modded and un-modded, or swap a few cables in and out, etc., all the while keeping an open mind, it's not that difficult to figure out what works and what is wishful thinking. Like *rgro*, I don't obsess too much over explanations. I do listen with interest when any are offered, but mostly I'm just happy that with the modded Touch my system has reached a higher level of musicality than ever before. And like *rgro*, I thank this Forum for the many helpful and fascinating posts!
