In my experience, the effect of *soundcheck*'s mods is indeed cumulative. I did the "screen-off" mod last and to be honest I did not expect it would make much difference to the sound. (My Oppo player has the option of defeating the display and -that- makes -no- difference to the sound). But I was wrong. What I heard is very similar to what you heard. I would not say it was a -striking- difference, but it was nevertheless a worthwhile increase in clarity, especially obvious when listening to a variety of music over an extended period of time.
