Hi. I have been trying out a Hegel HD2 usbdac on my Touch for a few days.
I had some initial problems to get it going but succeded at last. First I got it to work only with the alsa-plug config but after fiddling around with klaus' sw mods and Johns configs I got it working with the last asound.config and the increased buffersettings. My aplay -l looks like this:# aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: TXRX [MXC SPDIF TX/RX], device 0: MXC_SPDIF [MXC_SPDIF] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Audio [DigiHug USB Audio], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Audio [DigiHug USB Audio], device 1: USB Audio [USB Audio #1] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 2: fab4 [fab4], device 0: fab4-ak4420 [] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 3: fab4_1 [fab4], device 0: fab4-wm8974 [] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 And the final asound.conf:##TTUSB # /etc/asound.conf automatically generated by sc-output of soundchecks Squeezebo # This FILE1 enables the usb output on the Squeezbox Touch. The analog and digit pcm.usbdac { type hw; card Audio; } ctl.usbdac { type hw; card Audio; } pcm.!default usbdac The analog/digital outputs are turned off and the rest of klaus' mods are in place except the buffersize of course. With the original buffersize there were random pops and clicks playing but with the new configs it's all gone. The Hegel is not asynchron but the sound is still very good, at least to my ears.
