And I (and clearly others) seriously think the Touch should not NEED to
scan the whole damn volume of any drive that is connected to it, which
is the whole point of the thread that some people have been only to
desperate to divert attention away from, hence inane suggestions like
"Buy a quieter PC" or "use a PC in another room" or "hard drives are
cheap," "leave it switched on 24/7 and never disconnect it, because
switching the drive off reduces its lifespan anyway, and I am too
arrogant to admit that non-optional total-drive scans are stupid." 
Simples! ;)
