I am running a 1TB Toshiba portable drive attached to the USB port on the back of my Touch running Server version 7.5.2
1.2x in the last few days I have done a wipe and rescan due to adding new files and also to clean up some file naming issues and duplicate file issues I found. Each time after discovering new files was complete the number of files falls short of the number of files I get when I check my music folder by selecting Properties. Any thoughts as to why ? Properties shows approx 23.5k files and discovering new files shows 21.5k files. 2. How do I best determine what files are missed ? If the library was small it would be simple but with this many files just looking is a crapshoot. 3.Scanning for files both times has stopped due to a problem. Is there a way to determine what the problem is w my setup the way it is, or do I need to attach my touch to my PC ? 4. After the scan failure if I go back to the server it brings up-scanning media for music files. Does this mean it is searching for files missed the 1st time thrugh or something else? What ? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Otherwise I am enjoying my Touch. If I can resolve these issues I then plan to install a wi-fi network to take advantage of more options.
