Dave,
can you remind us... you did COMPLETELY uninstall Norton and install
Microsoft Security Essentials, didn't you?
The log is still showing anti-virus software interfering with the
scanning process.

Any scan failure during "merge various artists" is anti-virus related.

You need to tell MSE to exclude MYI and MYD files: see below...
