There are several ways to do it...

The easiest is to NOT disable flc flc (to avoid item 4) and to patch
both the normal and transcode entries to ALWAYS resample EVERYTHING to
96k and to output WAV from SOX... (instead of its usual flac output)

In other words, put the same entry in flc flc * * and flc flc transcode
*

You are correct in saying that WAV (PCM) does not have selective
transcoding. Another reason for avoiding WAV playback...
