I am having problems with my Squeezebox Touch and Wake on LAN. I had it
working reliably but am now having problems and I don’t think I’ve
changed anything (but something must have changed).

On some occasions (but not always) when I hibernate my server after
first powering off the touch (soft power off), the touch turns on with
the message “Problem Connecting” and gives me the choice of connecting
to my SBS server or mysqueezebox.com. As it displays the message, it
sends a magic packet which wakes up my server and when the SBS server
is running the message disappears.

As I say this doesn’t happen all the time. When I was testing today,
it didn’t happen on the first two hibernations but after the first two
it happens every time. I was using the Server Power Control plugin
(v20091031.005505) to suspend my server but I can reproduce the problem
by suspending my server from the Linux command line
(/usr/sbin/pm-hibernate) without using the plugin.

I have no screensaver on when I power off my Touch and can’t see why it
(sometimes) wants to maintain the connection with my SBS. I also have
alarms turned off. This problem started with 7.5.3 and I’ve just
upgraded to 7.5.4 and I still have the same problem. I’ve tried
changing the Power On Resume settings from “Pause at power off / Remain
paused at power on” to “Stop at power off / Remain stopped at power on”
but this had no effect. I’d really like to get this working reliably.
