I just got my Touch on Friday ( 4/15), love it.
I have an Enlightened Audio Design ( EAD) DSP 7000 DAC. I have been
using a ST glass fiber between it and my EAD T7000 transport. They are
both circa 1990s. So I hooked up the Touch via its analog output to my
Mod Squad Deluxe Line Drive ( passive). Sounds good. I had wanted to
hook up my Touch via my Glass fiber ST ( bnc connector) to the DAC.
Obviously it wont fit as the Touch uses a Toslink. So I have been
looking for an adapter with no luck. So then I notice my DAC also has a
Digital coax input. I see the Touch has a Digital Coax output. So I
start looking online for a digital coax cable when it dawns on me it
looks just like a standard audio cable. So I have a few same circa high
end ( at the time) interconnects and I hook one of them up from my Touch
to my DAC and fire up my Touch with a SD card with some of my FLAC
files, and low and behold it works and it works well. So what am I
missing here??? What the heck would the difference be if I went out and
bought an honest to good Digital Coax cable for 10 bucks or so frm
Amazon???????? I might go for a glass Toslink cable since my DAC takes
that too.
Any advice is appreciated...
