iOS provides exact playback position, so it's possible. SqueezePad is doing an active sync in its playback implementation. It just needs some time (15-30s) in SqueezePad due to it's big decoding buffer, until adjustments that are made arrive on the speakers. As SqueezePad also provides gapless playback I can listen to a full album in very good sync.
