I would also say leave the Touch and the HDD on. Hopefully you have your files backed up to another drive in case you develop an issue w the drive attached to the Touch. The backup should be done irregardless of whether or not you leave everything on. You spend a lot of effort getting your music ripped and tagged to where SBS can read it. Protect those efforts w a backup.
