I have a Squeezebox Touch and discarded my RedayNas Duo because it was too slow to allow Squeezebox Server to convert 192/24 files to 96/24 before sending them to the SBT via wireless. Now I bought the new MacMini as a Music server for the SBT. Unfortunately it doesn't work as smoothly as with the NAS.
I don't know if the Squeeze Software for the Mac is bad or if it just doesn't work well with OS x Lion. My SBT every now and then falls dead and when I try to awaken it it doesn't find the music that I select on the touch screen (iPeng with the iPad just has completely quit working with the Mac). When I select the album the playlist says "nothing". Occasionally I succeed in connecting the server on the Mac with the SBT by using the remote function. But at times it won't even play albums but only individual songs. I had decided for streaming with the SBT to my stereo and not directly with the Mac because I don't like a monitor in my living room and because the SBT is much easier to use, especially with HD files. Now this usability aspect has completely changed to the worse.
