Hi! I'm afraid it's not just the Mac Mini, neither is is just Lion. On my iMac G5, the server crashes instantly if any attempt is made to communicate with it via the squeezebox player. Initially I thought that the SBT simply could not see the server over the network. But after setting up a Macbook Pro to share the iMac screen so that I could watch the preference pane remotely, the problem immediately became apparent.
Touch anything that involved asking the server to do anything such as display a list of tracks in an album and the server on the iMac could be observed to immediately stop via the screen share; the preference pane displaying "The Server is Stopped" The crash is so sudden that the logs display nothing that would give a a clue as to the cause This can be reproduced anytime I want. Any command sent via the SB's own ethernet or wireless interface will stop the server dead without fail, giving a "there is a problem connecting to the server" message. The server used to crash on initial launch after installation. The latest 7.6.1 nightly seems to have addressed this, but the remote communication server crash problem still persists. I posted a detailed description the problem on the official Logitech Forum yesterday. Thus far there has been no response. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/MySqueezebox-com-Squeezebox/Squeezebox-Server-7-6-0-does-not-work-on-iMac-G5/td-p/658692 I'd love to be proved wrong and hear from a Mac user who has a working 7.6 setup, but as far as I'm concerned, 7.6 simply does not work on OSX, and judging by the lack of interest shown on the official forum, that is not likely to change in the near term.
