Very interesting results! It would be interesting to stick in some test equipment and see what the signal is like going to down the network cable before it hits the SBT. There is an obvious difference which there shouldn't be.
I use a bog standard router/switch/AP which is supplied by my internet provider (BT HH2) and have the opinion that separate components would be an improvement to my network, but not a cost beneficial one!
