I received two Jerome power supplies today and modded both of them to
use with my Touch and SB3.

This is the Jerome unit:
http://www.herbach.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HAR&Product_Code=TM93PWS2476&Category_Code=PWS

*note, they do not ship with AC power cord.....and the unit is only 5V,
2A (not 3A), I don't use USB but it could be an issue for someone if
they need the extra juice.

I went off of the good words that Wayne1 from Bolder had to say from
this thread: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=82815.0

For $10 I'll have to say it's an impressive device, built like a tank.

For anyone wanting to go this route I snapped some photos as I went
along. As a disclaimer, this is a do at your own risk modification, and
may have consequences to both your life, health equipment, etc.. If you
are not comfortable with this type of job, simply do not do it. Did I
mention this is DO AT YOUR OWN RISK? :)

1. Unit opened up, idea of size....

2. Internal shot of unit: http://members.cox.net/themules/internal.JPG

3. The unit has a 5 pin DIN plug. The pins and their colors are seen
here: http://members.cox.net/themules/colors.jpg

Of the 5 wires, only the brown (+5V) and black (common) are needed.

4. DIN diagram located on bottom of unit:

5. Bottom internal of unit with DIN wire attached:

6. Comparison to stock switcher:

7. Stock wire from Touch with soldered splice to Jerome:

9. Stable voltage (unloaded):

At this point, I can't say for certain if it's an improvement over the
stock unit, however, it's most definitely not worse. Audio is sounding
most excellent. After a few hours plugged in with SB off, the unit was
not even warm to the touch. I will need more hours on it to see where
it ends up.

I have done the analog cap mod, employ Soundcheck's mods, and now use
this linear psu. I am very pleased with what I am now hearing.....much
improved over the stock Touch in my own experience.
