install mp3tag. open, for example the joe jackson album that doesn't show up. Right click on the tracks in the album, select EXTENDED TAGS, anything odd showing up (ARTISTSORT, ALBUM ARTIST, etc. with unexpected values). Are these mp3 files. If so, I'd change all the tags to id3v2.3 (vs 1.1, 2.2, 2.4).
