Hello John,

You got my configuration spot on. After a fresh Ubuntu install (I had
some problems of missing drives following attempts to reformat know
how) I've now got it working albeit with a temp disk drive.

I took the lead from a previous post:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91747
and formatted the drive as NTFS. I also mounted the drive before
installing the Logitech Server. I'm not sure this is critical but it
didn't see the drive on first attempt?

The NTFS config tool doesn't run on 10.10 out of the box , fix here:

File sharing reported that I had to make a change in the global section
of the samba file. This just worked too.

I managed to login via a Windows machine as root (first attempts as a
user didn't work). Guess that didn't give me the right permissions.

Now it's all down to checking the overall power consumption , the whole
point really of this exercise. Thanks again for your help to date.

Alan
