Your NAS is a pc switched on all day (just a low power one without monitor/keyboard). You might consider a more powerful NAS, any old used computer with vortexbox installed (can run headless, and you can stick it anywhere in a back room as long as connected to network), a tiny PC that uses very little power, etc. I use a vortexbox appliance (actually I have two), and these function as NAS units essentially, but are full power computers that can run LMS and all the plugins with no issues. Stays on 24/7, stuck in a back closet, and is very stable with low power usage. Be a bit careful with the dlna/upnp approach. unless customized for the player, the general dlna approach doesn't do gapless playback, doesn't allow syncing of multiple players, may not do 24/96, etc. Anyhow just a few thoughts on what to look for. good luck. -- garym *Location 1:* VB Appliance 6TB (1.10) > LMS 7.7.1 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Location 2:* VB Appliance 3TB (2.0) > LMS 7.7.1 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) > LMS 7.7.1 > SqueezePlay Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controllers: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.7 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93186 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
