It is not the Touch that does the 192 > 96 conversion it is the server ,
and that is done very well with SoX, a very good quality software so it
does not introduce artefacts that you can hear.

So with EDO people with anaemic servers ( NAS box )  can use their 192k
files if they have any .
And USb only DAC is served . This is a great enhancement.

However it is simply not humanly possible to tell a 192k file from a 96k
file ( no it is not ).

And is not almost all files 44.1/16 anyway 99% of mine are , so
performance here is what matters .

So pursuing this for audio nirvana is forfeit ..

But to best utilze your equipment this is good , some DAC have USB some
have spdiff some have both .
And as John S repeatedly tells us , there is no guarantee that the USB
is always the best choice on a given DAC , it is all about
implementation .
