It is not the Touch that does the 192 > 96 conversion it is the server , and that is done very well with SoX, a very good quality software so it does not introduce artefacts that you can hear. So with EDO people with anaemic servers ( NAS box ) can use their 192k files if they have any . And USb only DAC is served . This is a great enhancement. However it is simply not humanly possible to tell a 192k file from a 96k file ( no it is not ). And is not almost all files 44.1/16 anyway 99% of mine are , so performance here is what matters . So pursuing this for audio nirvana is forfeit .. But to best utilze your equipment this is good , some DAC have USB some have spdiff some have both . And as John S repeatedly tells us , there is no guarantee that the USB is always the best choice on a given DAC , it is all about implementation . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94512 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
