First thank you very much for you help.
Uninstalling the 0.5 applet and reinstalling it has fixed my issue
(everything is peachy even with fixed volume). Not sure what happened
before , but I'm a happy camper.
I did look in the /var/log/messages, but can't find much relevant
besides possibly a few warnings such as:
"Apr 22 22:21:39 squeezeplay: WARN net.thread - NetworkThread.lua:146
network thread timeout for Task(SocketHttp
{fab4.squeezenetwork.com}(R))"
I'm assuming the issue I experienced was a fluke with the update.
