1) Unless there is some serious issues with your Wi-Fi, like interference that would cause drop-outs, then I don't see any reason why it would sound different. 2) That's up to personal preference. If you've already got a PC then you don't need to spend money for a NAS, unless you want the central storage and the ability to run LMS without a computer running, or want to share data with other computers/devices on your network. But if what you've already got works, you've got half the battle won.
