understand. I can't be of any help on this issue as my servers aren't in my listening room so I haven't really cared about noise. And regarding drives, I've seen recommendations good and bad for almost every drive so I mostly ignore those too. All drives will eventually fail and be replaced, so I am more concerned with having lots of good backups, stored offsite. p.s. My 3TB VBA is very, very quiet and has a WD HDD. My 6TB VBA a bit louder, but is in a back cabinet out of the way.
