Sounds like a plan. One more thing to check out is whether they support ACPI suspend or hibernate and also Wake-on-LAN. Depending on your listening habits, you may find the computer noise more annoying when you're _not_ playing music, in which case it's very convenient to be able to put the server in sleep or hibernate mode (completely silent), and then when you want to listen to music, wake it up via WOL using the Squeezebox.
