Hi Just a thought, but what is the flac compression level on files that cause problems? There has been issues in the past with older players with heavily compressed flacs if I recall correctly. If your flacs are compressed more than level 5 this may be the issue?
The Touch may not be keeping up with the SD card access, flac decompression and all the other activities when it's running as it's own server.
