The whole audiophile cargo cult hinges on that you should absolutely not do controlled test in any form :) It's like the " emperors new clothes " but they killed the kid that saw trough them and continue as they where :D
Joking aside there is piont to always remind people of the fact that the WAV FLAC thing is a myth, there is to much fud and misinformation about audio around , these things got indexed by search engines . But yes I got a severe case of the " someone is wrong on the internet " syndrome . Each to his own ? But as a wise poster sad on this forum, you are entitled to your own opinion but not to your own facts . Practical meaning: if I question a well established scientific fact in public I would be obliged to bring something more than anecdotes to make my piont ,like the earth have two moons (, yes some proposed SB tweaks are this bad ). The " problem " is on several levels regarding the Touch as a digital transport . If we assume that Touch is not a complete disaster as a transport most sane DAC's ( not to bizarre design ) is very happy with this signal , in fact to such a DAC any decent source is the same . So there is no evidence from controlled tests that you can hear any difference between any digital sources ( if neither source or DAC are broken by design ). Prove that first before trying to convince anyone that a Squeebox tweak is audible ?
