Another idea is the new Adam Artist 3, basically a A3X with digital input (I'm not sure there is a SPDIF input, but maybe the USB input may work with an 'EDO' touch) Good powered speakers including DAC are emerging now, it may be also a alternative to consider. (much more expensive, there is also the Dynaudio Xeo 3, and the upcoming Neumann KH120D)
