it should work ? I *think* I had a similar problem once my port 3483 was
open but not for broadcasts ,took a while to discover that the firewall
settings in ClarkConnent linux was not realy what they suposed to be . I
use some custom rules for the firewall nowadays I had to put a txt file
in the stratup with some rules (not at home can't remember what I did )

I do think you should have 3483 udp/tcp open I'm not sure something else
depends on it too .
I don't think this port can be completely blocked for a functioning
server ?

Why not try the system with it's recommended settings ? and then
continue to fault trace if this does not work either .

Another easy way is to set the Touch on fixed IP and allow all trafic
from that IP trough the firewall , maybe a bit to lazy...

I bet most IOS or Andriod apps will be bit cranky too , if this is not
implemented .
