I was wrong about the "connection reset" message - it can also be generated by LMS. Personally - when trying to find a problem, I avoid changing the system wherever possible. In this case stick to a well defined prcoedure which produces the error and make one change at a time. An alternative way of trying to isolate the problem would be to install LMS/Spotify/Wimp on an old PC/laptop and see if the problem is reproduced. If no problem then the issue is probably in your LMS and not network or router. Also check your server log to see if there is any message. To determined if connection reset is received by LMS or player can you enable logging for network.protocol.slimproto to INFO and try playing.
