Could it be that interference has increased with new APs in the area or overlapping channel? The surrounding airwaves in my proximity are ever-changing with new APs popping up and changing channels all the time. I use a wifi analyzer on my Android phone to see what is happening from time to time. I gave up on native SBT wifi and use an external ethernet/Wifi bridge (802.11n at 5Ghz). Wish I did it earlier. Able to stream 24/192 FLAC without any issues. Piror to this I spent countless hours with different frequencies, settings and different APs as well, with increased frustration. I am saying this to help you avoid wasting your time.
