I don't think this is the issue. I used inSSIDer to make sure I was on a different channel than my neighbours. It only picked up three...one on 1 another on 6 and me on 11. > Another essential factor is to keep the server wired , otherwise it > doubles the wifi capacity needed and could introduce other problems if > the computer does other downloads in the background , this could be less > of a problem if it uses n band instead of g. My server is hard-wired to the router. All my files are essentially flac (16/44), an occasional mp3 at 320, with a handful of hires at 24/88 and 24/96. I'm currently having the files locally decoded on the TOUCH. Unfortunately, I've recently noticed another problem. My hires files are starting to rebuffer while using the powerline network. This seems to have begun since adding the new home plug with my second TOUCH. I don't recall ever having a problem playing 24/88 files while I just had the one TOUCH wired over the powerlines. Sigh... Another question: Could the problem with the current rebuffering be on the computer end? It's a 5 year old Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz processor with 2 Gb RAM running VISTA. Could there be some interference or congestion going on while transmitting the files?? Grasping at straws here... By the way, thank you to everyone for your suggestions. Much appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chemguy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33449 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96900 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
