Only the Touch running EDO app will play 24/192. So if you run just the Touch (not synched to any other player) it should play 24/192 if you DAC can handle 24/192. The Transporter does 24/96 (and has no EDO equivalent). The Radio and SB3 does 24/48. So, for example, if you sync the Transporter and touch, you'll get maximum 24/96. If you also sync to a radio or SB3 you'll get max 24/48. This doesn't mean you can't play these things synched. LMS is smart enough to transcode in a high quality way to the lowest common denominator (e.g., 24/48) and allow you to play. In my experience and those of many others, there is actually no value to 24/192. If the file is from the same master as a 24/96 (or 16/44.1 file for that matter), in many double blind tests no human being can identify the difference as compared with 16/44.1 file. Of course there are 24/192 or 24/96 files that come from DIFFERENT masters, and these obviously can sound different. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94512 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
