Yes, a misunderstanding :) The App doesn't have anything to do while you are listening. It tells the server what to play and then the server and the Squeezebox do the rest among themselves. No problem to do anything else while listening.
The complicated stuff I mentioned only starts when you want to control (change) stuff while the App is NOT open/in the foreground.
