Once opened, apps stay open (even if they aren't visible) until you
close them and they are still open after you have powered off the iPad
and powered it on again. This puzzled me, as there is no obvious way to
close an app. After Googling I learnt that you have to double press the
home button which brings up the icons off all the open apps. You the
have to touch one of the icons until it starts to wiggle, a small red
'close' marker then appears on the icon and you can touch it to close
the app. I guess this must be what Apple folk think of as intuitive!

Mind you, I only got this new toy two days ago.
